Coming Home Tincture

$32.00

Coming Home is a delicious blend for embodiment, intended to help gather all parts of ourselves in order to drop back into the heart and body. This formula is made up of gentle nervines and heart tonics, which have traditionally been used to ease anxieties, nourish the nervous system, open the heart, and help the body respond to the stressors of daily life. As is often the case with herbs, this blend is best taken consistently over time, but you can still experience an immediate exhale upon taking one dose.

My intention behind the formula:

With all of the hardships life brings on, I often find myself carrying the weight of not only my own stress, but at times it feels like I'm also holding the weight of the world. Our hearts and nervous systems can feel overwhelmed and heavy as we hold all of these grievances, and in those moments, it is easy to become disconnected from our bodies. I created Coming Home to help us return to ourselves, listen to our needs, and to expand our capacity to hold and to feel.

ABOUT THE HERBS:

Motherwort: The Latin name for this herb, Leonurus cardiaca, translates to "lion-hearted" which indicates its protective tendency over the heart. It is strengthening to the cardiovascular system and helps to release anxieties carried in this area. It creates spaciousness and invites in feelings of expansion, opening up the heart's potential to carry greater weights. As a nervine and anti-spasmodic, it helps us release tension held in the body. Energetically, it can inspire us to feel open to new ideas and let go of what no longer serves us.

Linden: My herb teacher, Marysia, always refers to Linden (Tilia spp.) as feeling like a grandmother's hug, which is what comes to me when I work with this plant. Another herb for releasing nervous tension and grief in the heart, it is deeply soothing, working to create a softening throughout the heart and body. It is also nourishing, full of vitamins and minerals that replenish our reserves.

Reishi: Ganoderma lingzhi, coined "the mushroom of immortality", Reishi promotes a strong body, a resilient spirit and a healthy heart. Very calming to the mind, Reishi can help transport us into a moment of ease. It can boost our energy and promote our quality of sleep, both of which are needed in order to tend fully to our nervous systems. As an adaptogen, it strengthens the function of our adrenal glands.

Dandelion root: An often overlooked plant, Taraxacum officinalis grows abundantly under our feet, often despised or ignored. However, this plant is a much needed friend to all. Deeply nutritious and detoxifying, it cools inflammation in the body and excess heat in our livers. I included Dandelion in this blend not only for its physical healing properties, but rather its energetic ones. It is grounding, cleansing, and in my experience, offers a look into connecting with our inner child.

Hibiscus: Hibiscus sabdariffa is an anti-inflammatory cooling tonic, high in anti-oxidants, that strengthens the heart and promotes healthy levels of cholesterol and blood pressure.

Recommended use: 2-3 droppers full, up to 3 times per day
