My name is Kira Casey, the founder of Little Sister Apothecary. I’m a passionate folk herbalist and animist rooted in the Wise Woman Tradition. My journey into herbalism began with a love and curiosity for the plant kingdom and a deep longing to return to our roots of being in relationship with nature.

Over the years, I have witnessed the profound impact of the plants on myself, family and friends. I’ve experienced transformations that have touched every aspect of my being—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. From relieving chronic stress and digestive issues to improving my sleep and restoring balance to my menstrual cycle, the healing power of plants has been nothing short of life-changing. But what I’ve come to understand is that the benefits of herbal medicine extend far beyond the physical realm. These plants offer us the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves on a deeper level, to be more present, and to cultivate a greater appreciation for our bodies and the natural world around us.

Herbalism is our inherent birthright. It’s an ancient kinship we know in our bones. Healing ourselves with plants is the oldest form of medicine. This collaboration fosters a deep reverence for the unseen intelligence that exists within the natural world—systems and energies that extend beyond what we can perceive with the naked eye. I believe that when we open ourselves to the healing potential of plants, we open ourselves to a life of deeper connection. Healing does not happen solely from ingesting teas and tinctures, but rather from tending a relationship with all the beings in your life- the trees outside your door, the soil underfoot, the food that nourishes you daily, and the people who love you.
